I’ve recently had few people ask my skincare routine. If you know me, you know that I believe skincare is ever changing, based on the current needs of your skin. If you pay attention, you skin will tell you exactly what you need. Lately I’ve been more on the dry side, thanks winter. So my skin, has been drinking almost every thing I’ve put on it.
I was asked to join the panel of judges for the AOL Beauty Awards. It couldn’t be a more perfect timing. So over the course of the past few weeks I’ve been sampling new products that I’ve never used before, to share my results. Through this 3 week trial, I’ve found a few new products that I find to be amazing, that I will start incorporating in my every day routine.
Let’s start with my all-time favorite! boscia’s Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick Treatment. I was super excited to see this in the lineup of items to try for AOL Beauty Awards. I’d been looking for a treatment to use once a week for intense cleaning. This product worked wonders for my skin. My face immediately felt pure and free of all of the toxins. I followed this intense treatment up with my next on the list.
After such a deep cleaning, my face needed an moisturizer that was just as intense. Tatcha’s Supple Moisture Rich Silk Cream was the perfect moisture surge my skin needed. It’s silk extracts and green tea make my skin feel like it bounced back from a hard week after using it.
After that, I focus on my lips. I do a weekly exfoliant, and with winter I sometimes do this treatment twice a week. Beauty For Real’s Lip Revival is a bomb lip treatment that gives intense scrubbing to the lips. I personally love it because the sugar is so fine, and exfoliants without damaging any skin cells. It also helps with maintaining my lips after wearing extremely drying matte lipsticks.
After my skin is done, I focus on my hair. The truth is, perfect hair is impossible, but healthy hair is always achievable! In order to maintain healthy hair, I believe I must focus on healthy ends. The truth, my ends split so easily. I blame having fine has as a part of that. To save my split ends in between getting my hair trimmed, I use Living Proof’s Split End Mender. It’s non-greasy texture works perfectly for my fine hair, and doesn’t weigh down my style.
To finish protecting my hair, I make sure I sleep in my new favorite silk pillow. This Slip pillowcase is honestly life changing. For years I’ve attempted to sleep in a satin cap, or a satin pillow. Unfortunately I could never commit because in the middle of the night I wake up overheated. So learning about a silk pillowcase that was 100% silk, and had cool temperature regulating capabilities … I was completely interested. After one night’s use, I was SOLD!
