Summer is coming to an end, and while I personally don’t care for the hotter months, I know I will surely miss maxi dress season. While you can still wear maxis year ’round there’s nothing more comfortable than throwing on a easy garment during summer.
When I first moved to Atlanta one of my first goals was to dive into the plus network here. I was invited to an event, a pop up shop, by this amazing custom designer Christian Omeshun (Ashontay). I couldn’t make it to the event, but I still reached out so that we could get to know each other.
When HD proposed we took a small second to just enjoy being engaged before diving into the planning process. We knew we didn’t want to be engaged long and we weren’t interested in having a long stressful planning process either.
I turn 29 today and I find myself transforming into a very comfortable space in my life. Years ago when my birthday rolled around, I would find myself over evaluating where I was in my life and if I felt like I’d accomplished everything that I’d set out to do.
I’ve learned so many valuable lessons this year, one of which is simply having high standards.
